A glittering line-up of class acts kept '80s fans on their feet at the July FreoAid,held to raise money for the Fremantle Foundation Fund for Children and Young People in July.

Fremantle Dockers’ player Luke McPharlin said the talent was so good he couldn’t get a gig! It was a worthy cause to support.

Child’s play – on the world stage
International counsellor, Play Therapy Australia therapist and trainer Donna Berry had a welcoming foray into Singapore when she presented the Heart and Practice of Child Centered Play Therapy workshop, at Sentosa Island, to a number of health professionals. The therapy, which counteracts children's experience of trauma, is a form of counselling and psychotherapy for children from 2 years to 12 years old. Ms Berry will be running the workshops in the lion city until early 2016.

Almost $170,000 raised from Homeless for a Night
Almost $170,000 raised from the May 2 ‘Homeless for a Night Sleep Out’ held at Ascot Racecourse, organised by to add to coffers to feed the disadvantaged. The organisation is aiming to dish up 90000 meals for the disadvantaged this year.

Variety, the children’s charity is one special charity. Brad, known as the fastest speed painter on the planet, has performed at many of their gala dinners and was thrilled when invited to take to the canvas at the 2013 World Conference in Las Vegas.

Brad performed his usual high energy show with paintings of Elvis and Marilyn Monroe (all with audience interaction) and Variety International Chairman, Monty Hall. The performance led to the 92 year old television icon (with his own star on the Hall of Fame who was recently awarded a Lifetime achievement Emmy award) joining the guests from 11 countries in an impromptu burst of the annual conference farewell song.

Fast becoming one of the premier music series in Perth, the Concert series at St Georges Cathedral has become widely noted as much for the quality of its performances as the diversity of its repertoire. Singing sensation Nez Erok's solo campaign for the cause to end violence against women through her music.

Born in Perth Western Australia in 1977, yet raised within a Turkish culture at home, Nez's natural talent for music was nurtured by a deep desire to not only find a voice, but to be heard.

In a journey which took her from the school choir to the recording studio, Nez's natural flair for electronica saw her redefine what was thought possible of the genre, creating house tracks that capture the raw emotion usually only exposed in ballads.

With his ‘tell it like it is’ attitude Heath Black, former St Kilda and Fremantle Dockers AFL player, shared his stories about overcoming a dependency on alcohol and beating depression that caused him to lose everything – his football career media interests marriage, business… at the Men in Black Ball, 2011.

Heath’s revelations reverberated around Australia taking print, social media and broadcast, by storm. From airtime on commercial channels including two interviews on Nine’s Footy Show, to radio, Heath’s story commanded column inches in national, magazines and community newspapers.
